Assystem is seeking a driven graduate to join their team as a Graduate Simulation & Assessment Engineer. Specifically, this permanent, on-site position is based at Mallard House in Derby. Additionally, the role offers an exciting entry point into the nuclear and low-carbon energy sectors.

About the Programme

In this two-year Graduate Programme, you will accelerate your career through live project exposure and a tailored upskilling framework. Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Assessment: Apply fundamental engineering principles to assess the fitness for purpose of complex components, assemblies, and systems. In addition, you will use advanced simulation techniques to ensure structural and operational integrity.

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Investigate engineering challenges and ensure precise calculations underpin safe, robust designs. Thus, you will help deliver high-integrity solutions for highly regulated industries.

  • Rotational Development: Rotate through diverse teams and projects over two years. Moreover, you will align your practical experience with your long-term career ambitions in the energy sector.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Therefore, strong analytical backgrounds are essential.

  • Core Competencies: A passion for applying engineering fundamentals, strong problem-solving skills, and deep curiosity about how calculations drive safe design. Furthermore, you must be eager to work within highly regulated environments.

  • Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be UK sole nationals and UK residents, able to obtain a minimum of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. Crucially, you must be willing to relocate or travel within the UK (with relocation support provided).
