What is the job description in its entirety?

Overseeing office operations at our New Zealand House project site office is the main duty of this position. The Office Manager will support the project team and manage daily office tasks under the direction of the Project Director. This is a project-oriented role that might need some sporadic trips to headquarters. Additionally, the person filling this position will make sure that the site receptionist’s duties are carried out effectively and in accordance with Multiplex’s set standards.

Additional duties consist of:

1. Being a key player in the establishment of new or additional office locations.
2. Efficiently managing the project’s office supplies; while certain responsibilities may be assigned, the Office Manager still has final say.
3. Ensuring that each member of the project team has the knowledge and resources required for their position.
4. Endorsing the sustainability and health and safety initiatives.
5. Coordination and informing project staff about outside site visits, in conjunction with the Project Leads and Handover Manager.
6. Arranging and coordinating social events, team meetings, team-building exercises, project topping out ceremonies, and completion events.

What qualities and credentials are necessary to succeed in this role?

Proficiency and Background:

It is required to have prior experience in a similar capacity on a building site. Furthermore, preferred credentials and background include:
1. Prior office relocation support experience.
2. Proficiency in communication – the ability to effectively and concisely transmit knowledge to others.
3. It is beneficial to know how to use IFS software.
4. Excellent problem-solving abilities: recognizing complex issues and gathering relevant data to create and assess possible solutions.
5. The ability to make decisions, which involves weighing the advantages and disadvantages of several options to determine the best course of action.
