Indeed, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee HR Advisor to join our dedicated HR team at Johnstons of Elgin in Scotland. Based at our historic Elgin site, this full-time role offers a starting salary from £26,577 per annum, depending on your current experience. Specifically, you will work 38 hours per week from Monday to Friday, though we are open to considering different working hours for the right candidate. About the Role

As a graduate or trainee, you will support the wider HR team across a diverse range of people-related activities. Consequently, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience in all aspects of modern HR management. You will report directly to the Senior HR Advisor, who will provide continuous coaching to help you learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your daily tasks will keep you engaged with our workforce. For example, your core duties will include:

  • Day-to-Day Support: You will provide regular HR support and practical guidance to managers and team members across the business.

  • Employee Relations: You will assist with employee relations cases, including absence, disciplinary, and grievance matters, while receiving full support and coaching.

  • Performance Management: You will assist with performance management processes and offer guidance to managers where needed.

  • Compliance: You will help ensure that all internal HR policies and procedures are followed correctly, keeping the company compliant with current employment law.

  • Data & Reporting: You will maintain highly accurate HR records and assist the team with regular reporting and data tracking.

  • Team Contribution: You will attend team meetings, contribute practical HR support, and get involved in wider company-wide HR initiatives.
