Amazon Development Centre (London) Limited is seeking a passionate and skilled professional to join their Rufus Quality Engineering team as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). Specifically, this full-time role is based in London and places you at the forefront of building scalable test automation frameworks for Amazon’s conversational AI shopping assistant.
About the Role
As an SDET on the Rufus team, you will operate at the intersection of software development and quality engineering. Furthermore, you will build internal testing tools, intelligent systems, and scalable frameworks that empower developers to ship high-quality features at speed. As a result, your work will directly drive quality excellence across backend services, frontend applications, and cutting-edge generative AI models. Consequently, you will help shape the future of conversational shopping experiences for millions of global customers.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Frameworks: Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for Rufus backend services, frontend applications, and GenAI model validation.
Tool Development: Build and maintain internal testing tools that enable software development engineers to self-serve test execution and quality validation.
GenAI Quality Validation: Develop testing strategies and tooling for generative AI outputs, including prompt engineering evaluation, response benchmarking, and regression testing.
Autonomous Systems: Contribute to agentic AI systems for autonomous test generation, intelligent failure analysis, and predictive quality modeling while partnering with feature teams.
Candidate Requirements
Programming Experience: Professional programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including a solid understanding of object-oriented design.
Automation Expertise: Proven experience building robust test automation frameworks and internal quality tools.
Preferred Skills: Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, performance in database environments, and security in service-oriented web services.
