We are looking for an experienced and motivated Security Engineer Job Opportunity in the United Kingdom to join our dedicated Security Team in Hatfield, East of England. In this hands-on role, you will take full ownership of the systems and infrastructure that safeguard over 450 operational sites, making a real impact on the safety and resilience of our entire network.
What You’ll Do
As our new Security Engineer, your responsibilities will be both strategic and hands-on, encompassing a wide range of security measures:
- Maintain and troubleshoot security systems, including CCTV, security management systems, and alarms, to ensure quick fault resolution.
- Act as the technical lead, serving as a key link between our IT, OT, contractor, and site teams.
- Install and commission new CCTV and security infrastructure at our operational sites.
- Carry out security audits and risk assessments, making recommendations for improvements where needed.
- Manage third-party security maintenance contracts and audit their performance.
- Oversee lifecycle planning for security assets, which includes managing upgrades and replacements.
- Deliver training sessions and support security exercises across teams.
- Assist with access control systems, locks, keys, and compliance requirements.
- Provide expert technical input for any projects that require physical security measures.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who has:
- A NIS Gold or 18th Edition Electrical certification, or is willing to work towards one.
- Hands-on experience with security system installation and maintenance, specifically with CCTV, alarms, and access control.
- Knowledge of IT/OT environments, or a willingness to develop your skills in this area.
- Familiarity with systems like Vanderbilt SPC, Milestone, Pelco, Cortech, Sentinor, and Commend (comprehensive training will be provided if needed).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A full UK driving license and the flexibility to travel to our operational sites.

- Competitive Salary: You’ll earn between £40,000 – £45,000 per year, based on your skills and experience.
