Specifically, this role sits within our Müller Yogurt & Desserts (MYD) division. You will act as the primary scientific subject matter expert across our key UK sites. Your Mission: Scientific Excellence
In this key technical role, you will provide leadership across microbiology, chemistry, and process science. You will work across our sites in Market Drayton, Telford, and Minsterley. Furthermore, your work will ensure we maintain robust standards that protect our shoppers.
Key Responsibilities:

Scientific Expertise: You will act as the lead expert regarding the microbiological, chemical, and physical properties of food.

Standard Setting: You will lead the development and governance of science-based technical specifications.

Improvement Plans: You will drive spoilage prevention and pathogen reduction through data-led strategies.

Incident Management: You will support root cause analysis for quality incidents.

Laboratory Innovation: You will drive continuous improvement in lab systems and scan for new technologies.

Cross-functional Partnerships: You will partner with Operations, Engineering, and external laboratories.

Team Development: You will coach site teams to strengthen quality capability at every level.
What You Bring to the Team
We seek a structured, analytical professional who has the confidence to challenge the status quo. Ideally, your profile includes:

Education: A science-based degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.

Experience: Strong experience within food manufacturing, preferably in dairy or FMCG.

Technical Bias: A strong background in microbiology is highly preferred.

Certifications: HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4 are desirable.
