Role Purpose
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all products are prepared, processed, and packed in line with internal standards, customer requirements, and food safety legislation. Specifically, you will work closely with production and management teams to uphold a culture of safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will be varied and hands-on. For instance, you will perform the following duties:

Production Oversight: Work closely with Production Supervisors to ensure all food preparation, portioning, and packing activities meet quality standards.

Systems Maintenance: Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of quality and food safety management systems.

Root Cause Analysis: Lead and support corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs), including investigations where non-conformances occur.

Testing & Inspection: Carry out routine testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure they comply with specifications.

Compliance Documentation: Ensure all quality and production documentation is completed accurately and maintained according to regulatory requirements.

Equipment Verification: Conduct routine calibration of monitoring equipment, such as temperature probes and weighing scales.

Hygiene Supervision: Supervise sanitation activities, including ATP testing and environmental swabbing.

Internal Auditing: Complete audits covering GMP, hygiene, and glass or hard plastic control.

Process Monitoring: Monitor product weights, temperatures, and gas levels to ensure legal and specification compliance.

Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute ideas to improve operational standards and participate in quality-focused initiatives.
Person Specification
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

Education: Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.

Experience: Proven experience working in a regulated manufacturing or production environment.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to Detail: A high level of focus, particularly regarding food safety and hygiene.

Resilience: The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Attributes

Previous experience specifically in a Quality Assurance role.

Experience maintaining and reporting within a Quality Management System (QMS).

A Degree or HND in a relevant subject.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a QA or technical role within the food or FMCG sector.
Working Pattern & Details

Location: Killinchy, Northern Ireland.

Reporting To: Technical Manager / QA Supervisor.

Shift Pattern: Monday–Sunday, 5 days per week (rota-based).

Requirements: You must be authorized to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship.
