What You’ll Do

As our new Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for a range of critical tasks that ensure seamless network operations:

• Design and implementation: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new network requirements.
• Performance optimization: You’ll monitor and optimize network infrastructure performance for maximum efficiency.
• Customer communication: You will provide timely and clear updates on incidents to customers and key stakeholders.
• Incident resolution: You’ll use ITSM tools, such as ServiceNow, to track and resolve incidents effectively.
• Resource administration: You will administer vital IT resources, including site security, user accounts, telecommunications, and applications.
• Reporting: You will regularly report on progress to Team Leaders and Managers.
• Out-of-hours support: After your first 12 months of training, you will be prepared to support out-of-hours cover.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a candidate who can bring:

• Security Clearance: You must be eligible to obtain DV (Developed Vetting) clearance.
• Education: A graduate degree or equivalent experience in Networking, IT, or a related field.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong academic knowledge in routing, switching, and data center operations.
• Awareness: An awareness of network monitoring and optimization practices.
• Certifications: Ideally, you are working towards or already hold a CCNP certification.

Nice-to-Haves

• Exposure to Fortigate/FortiWeb firewalls.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow and SolarWinds.
• An understanding of cloud automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.

Job Details & Perks

• Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent
• Location: This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days a week in our Glasgow office, with travel to Gosport as needed.
• Salary: We offer a competitive salary of up to £35,000 per year.
