This is a full-time position with a salary of £33,247 per year, working on an 8-week cycle of rotating day and night shifts (07:00–19:00 or 19:00–07:00).

What You’ll Do

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in keeping the hospital running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across estates systems.
• Performing minor repairs and routine maintenance on plant, equipment, and furniture.
• Supporting mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance tasks within your skillset.
• Monitoring firefighting equipment, water systems, ventilation, and safety processes.
• Furthermore, you will ensure all work meets Health & Safety regulations.
• You’ll be working both independently and as part of a multi-skilled team.

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for someone with:

• The ability to work unsociable hours on rotating shifts.
• Basic knowledge of health & safety practices.
• The confidence to handle maintenance tasks independently or under supervision.
• The flexibility to work around staff, patients, and visitors in a hospital environment.
• Ultimately, a strong sense of responsibility and awareness of how your work impacts the patient experience.
