Are you looking for an engaging Administrative Assistant position to kickstart your Summer 2026? St Andrew’s College Language Schools is currently hiring for various locations, including Edinburgh, London, Chatham, Canterbury, Exeter, Colchester, Gloucester, and Keele. This role provides a weekly salary of £598.25, which includes holiday pay. Furthermore, we provide on-site accommodation for all successful candidates throughout the contract.

Core Requirements for This Clerical Support Position

To qualify for this office support role, you must meet several essential criteria. Specifically, we require a strong National 5 or GCSE in English. You should also demonstrate up-to-date proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. In addition, candidates must possess outstanding interpersonal skills to interact courteously with people at all levels.

Essential Skills:

  • You must plan and prioritize your own workload effectively.

  • We require a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • You should maintain high accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are vital.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Previous experience in a Summer School environment is helpful.

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs) is a plus.

  • Moreover, the ability to work under tight deadlines will serve you well.

Your Daily Responsibilities as a Campus Office Coordinator

As an integral member of the team, you will manage a variety of clerical tasks to support our campus managers. We spread the 42-hour working week across five or six days, which usually includes working on Saturdays. Therefore, flexibility is a key component of this job.

Academic and Non-Academic Support:

  • You will oversee the organization and maintenance of office records.

  • Additionally, you will manage reporting mechanisms across databases and network storage.

  • Staff will rely on you to act as a liaison between academic and non-academic departments.

  • You will assist with student inductions, ensuring every student receives their ID badges and lanyards upon arrival.

Data and Record Management:

  • One of your primary tasks involves using the Master Spreadsheet to organize student data.

  • You will also help the Director of Studies (DoS) manage class lists and registers.

  • Furthermore, you will ensure the accuracy of student names for their final certificates.

  • Keeping an inventory of resources according to company guidelines is also necessary.

Health, Safety, and General Administration

Maintaining a safe environment is our top priority. Consequently, you will assist with rooming lists and fire drill records on a regular basis. You will also maintain a daily log of First Aid issues and any incidents that occur on campus. Similarly, you will help distribute and collate feedback questionnaires to help us improve our services.

Additional Tasks Include:

  • Taking minutes during management meetings.

  • Meeting and greeting guests in a professional manner.

  • Providing cover for other administrative staff when required.

  • Finally, you may occasionally supervise students during their free time.

Mandatory Disclosure Checks

Because we work with students under 18, all employees must undergo strict background checks. You must provide an ‘Enhanced’ DBS or PVG disclosure dated within three months of your start date. In addition, you must provide three references who can verify your suitability for working with children. The cost for these checks ranges from ÂŁ18 to ÂŁ70, which we will deduct from your salary. Therefore, please ensure you have your documentation ready for a smooth application process.
