About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NHSCFA’s Information & Cyber Security (I&CS) Team. Therefore, we are looking for a candidate with proven experience in Information/Cyber Security, a proactive mindset, and a flexible “can-do” approach.

As an integral member of the I&CS team, you will:

• Proactive Monitoring: Proactively monitor IT systems to identify and resolve security incidents, vulnerabilities, alerts, and threats.

• Operations Management: Manage and develop Cyber Security Operations, ensuring continuous improvement and robust risk mitigation.

• Testing: Potentially perform penetration testing activities to assess system resilience.

• Incident Response: Support and participate in the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT).

• Threat Intelligence: Conduct detailed threat intelligence analysis and implement effective remediation measures.

• Risk Assessment: Perform thorough security risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.

• Assurance: Contribute to maintaining essential security certifications, accreditations, and assurance processes.

• Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive Cyber Security Operations reports.

Key Responsibilities in Detail

Your core duties will focus on:

• Managing, monitoring, and enhancing NHSCFA cyber security operations and ICT infrastructure.

• Reviewing IT system alerts, managing monitoring tools, and identifying security threats in real time.

• Triaging and analysing system-generated and user-reported incidents.

• Investigating affected systems, identifying attack vectors, and implementing technical remediation.

• Evaluating threats, eliminating false positives, and escalating incidents where necessary.

• Conducting in-depth threat intelligence to assess attack type, entry point, and overall risk level.

• Providing clear risk assessments and highlighting security gaps that require immediate remediation.
