Role Overview
As a Junior Development and Sample Technologist, you will play a hands-on role in bringing new food concepts to life. You will be responsible for preparing and despatching samples, maintaining critical stock levels, and assisting with product trials. Furthermore, you will work to improve current products through cost engineering, ensuring that all outcomes meet our high standards for quality and business profit.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will be varied and fast-paced. For example, you will perform the following duties:

NPD Support: Support the Senior Development Technologist with recipe development, benchmarking, and organizing taste panels.

Product Implementation: Develop new products that align with the group’s sales and marketing strategies.

Feasibility & Costing: Evaluate project feasibility and provide input into product costings.

Prototype Creation: Identify formulations, develop prototypes, and provide on-site support during production scale-up.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure successful product launches.

Trials & Studies: Perform plant trials and conduct shelf-life studies to validate product stability.

Organization: Maintain sample stocks and ensure development kitchens and storage areas remain clean and tidy.

Systems Management: Ensure Salesforce and other NPD systems stay updated in a timely fashion.

Customer Relations: Build strong relationships with customers and produce accurate documentation to ensure consistency.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a self-driven professional who thrives in a team environment. Ideally, you possess the following skills and attributes:

Education: A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or equivalent qualifications is highly advantageous.

Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Food Development is required, specifically with exposure to the bakery or snacks sector.

Technical Skills: You must have strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of Food Safety, GMP, and HACCP.
