We are actively seeking a motivated Events Assistant Job Opportunity in the United Kingdom to join the prestigious Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford. In this pivotal role, you’ll support the planning and smooth delivery of a wide variety of academic functions. Specifically, this includes everything from high-profile conferences and student-focused programs to flagship lectures and research group events.

Working closely with the Events Manager, you will play a key part in enhancing the Faculty’s research culture while ensuring all events run seamlessly throughout the academic year.

  • Salary: £32,108 – £37,338 per year

What You’ll Do

As the Events Assistant, your core responsibilities will be diverse and highly visible:

  • Event Coordination: You will plan, coordinate, and deliver various events, including lectures, conferences, symposiums, dinners, and academic programmes.
  • Financial Administration: You will support budget preparation, procurement, and financial administration in line with strict University policies.
  • Record Keeping: You will maintain accurate event records using Microsoft Excel and various University systems.
  • Specialized Support: You will provide dedicated event support for the Public International Law Research Group and the Oxford Intellectual Property Research Centre’s Annual Moot.
  • Software Utilization: You will utilize various software tools such as Padlet, Drupal, Stripo, and Oracle in your daily tasks.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: You will proactively liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and professional representation of the Faculty.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates:

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to effectively meet deadlines, even when under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear and professional stakeholder engagement.
  • The ability and willingness to work flexibly, which includes some evenings and occasional travel.
  • Knowledge of budget management and essential financial planning principles.
  • Furthermore, experience or an interest in higher education events management is desirable.
