We are seeking an enthusiastic Event Co-ordinator and Front of House Job Opportunity in the United Kingdom to join our Campus Services team at the prestigious University of Birmingham.   • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Salary: £29,647 – £31,460 (with progression up to £35,388)

About the Role

You will act as the first point of contact for delegates, managing event logistics, liaising with clients and service providers, and ensuring every detail meets the highest standard. Therefore, this role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes immense pride in exceptional service. From essential planning and administration to visible front-facing duties, you will be crucial to the success of every function.

Key Responsibilities

As the Event Co-ordinator and Front of House, you will:

  • Event Delivery: Coordinate and deliver a variety of conferences and events across the campus.
  • Front of House Duties: Act as the face of our service, greeting delegates, assisting with AV use, and ensuring smooth event flow.
  • Logistics Management: Organize catering, meticulously check allergens, and maintain a tidy environment.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders to meet all their event objectives.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate client and booking records on the system.
  • Safety & Compliance: Undertake thorough risk assessments and ensure full compliance with safety regulations.
  • Financial Processing: Process all financial requirements, including deposits, quotes, and billing reconciliation.
  • Sales Support: Host venue familiarisation visits and actively identify upselling opportunities.
  • Team Collaboration: Support larger-scale events in collaboration with Event Managers.

Requirements

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:

  • An A Level or equivalent qualification, or relevant professional work experience in the field.
  • Minimum Grade C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Previous professional experience in Events and/or Marketing.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and experience with website editing software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work flexibly, which includes evenings and weekends when required.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and financial awareness.
