  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (Core hours 9 am–5:30 pm, with flexible hours between 8 am–6 pm)

  • Salary: £32,000 – £37,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

The Role: Cyber Security Engineer

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be an integral part of our IT Engineering team. Your primary mission is to enhance and maintain robust security solutions, deliver critical Cyber Essentials (CE) & Cyber Essentials+ (CE+) audits, and significantly strengthen the cyber resilience of our partners.

You will collaborate closely with the IT Delivery Manager and cross-functional teams. This ensures operational excellence, strong security controls, proactive threat response, and continuous improvement across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

Your core duties will involve:

  • Reporting: You will report to the IT Delivery Manager and stay updated on the latest industry threats and technologies.

  • Client Service: You will deliver world-class service and maintain professional communication with clients and project managers.

  • Auditing Leadership: You will lead CE & CE+ audits, manage remediations, and secure final certifications.

  • Assessment: You will conduct thorough vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis.

  • Documentation: You will develop and maintain essential security documentation and detailed incident reports.

  • Support: You will support patch management policies, covering both Microsoft and 3rd party updates.

  • Guidance: You will offer expert technical guidance and training to internal teams and end-users.

  • Deployment: You will install and configure essential security tools, such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and SIEM systems.

  • Compliance: You will ensure compliance with critical standards, including ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.

  • Mentorship: You will mentor junior cyber professionals and collaborate effectively with third-party security providers.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a professional who brings:

  • A consistently positive attitude and strong communication skills.

  • Experience in cyber/IT security, ideally within a tech-driven environment.

  • Hands-on experience leading CE & CE+ audit processes.

  • Strong diagnostic and incident resolution skills.

  • Proficiency with RMM tools, patch management, and monitoring systems.

  • Familiarity with IASME certification requirements is highly beneficial.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • A willingness to travel within the UK.

  • Crucially, a Full UK Driving Licence is required.

  • Desirable Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CYSA+, or similar certifications are advantageous.
