Join us to hear about the NIHR’s translational funding schemes, which support short-term and ambitious collaborative projects to de-risk innovations towards adoption and commercialisation. Dr. Ruth Nebauer, Assistant Director of the Innovation Programme at NIHR and manager of the i4i programme will share what makes a good application and answer your questions about FAST, Connect, Product Development Awards and other relevant schemes.

Product Development Awards
The Product Development Awards (PDA) support collaborative projects and aims to de-risk innovations, supporting early product development and real-world evaluation, to make them more attractive for follow-on funding or commercial investment.
· Funding level: No maximum, we are encouraging ambitious projects with the potential to make a real impact.
· Project duration: Between 24 – 36 months.
Connect
Innovations at any stage of the translational research and development pathway prior to implementation in the NHS. Research proposals must address an area of unmet need and show a clear pathway towards adoption and commercialisation.
· Funding level: £50,000 to £150,000.
· Project duration: 6 to 12 months.
FAST
The FAST (Funding At the Speed of Translation) funding scheme is aimed at innovators in need of a small amount of funding to answer a single specific question to address an evidence gap in developing an innovation. FAST funding opportunities are usually themed.
· Scope: As specified in the funding opportunity.
· Funding level: As specified in the applicant guidance within the funding opportunity, usually £15,000 to £50,000.
· Project duration: As specified in the funding opportunity information, usually 3 to 6 months.
