Taiko Foods is currently looking for a dedicated Quality Assurance Officer to join our innovative technical team in Acton (W3 7XR). Since 1997, we have led the UK market as the premier manufacturer of sushi and food-to-go products for major retailers like Waitrose, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s. Specifically, this full-time position offers a competitive salary of £29,000 – £31,000 per year for 40 contracted hours. You will work rotating shifts, either from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm or 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, ensuring our products always meet the highest standards.
About the Role
As our new Quality Assurance Officer, you will bring a proactive and highly organized approach to our food safety operations. Furthermore, you will use your keen eye for detail to identify improvements and ensure every product meets regulatory and customer expectations. You will thrive in our fast-paced environment while communicating effectively across various teams. Your Key Responsibilities
We expect you to uphold rigorous safety and quality standards through the following actions:

QA & Compliance: You will ensure total compliance with our Food Safety and Quality Management System (QMS), including all allergen controls.

Audit Execution: You will conduct regular GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and COP (Compliance Observation Process) audits.

Product Verification: You will verify that all factory products match their specifications. In addition, you will report any deviations in quality or consistency immediately.

Hygiene Monitoring: You will monitor staff hygiene and report any concerns directly to the QA Manager.

Documentation: You will maintain accurate records according to QMS requirements. Consequently, you must email all daily non-conformances to the QA Manager.

Temperature Checks: You will perform daily temperature checks on all chillers, freezers, and food products using calibrated probes.

Quarantine Management: You will immediately quarantine any non-conforming equipment or products.

Equipment Oversight: You will ensure technical equipment remains operational. Moreover, you will calibrate and verify tools as instructed.

Team Support: You will provide guidance to Quality Controllers (QCs) and assist the Technical Department with various tasks.

Product Testing: You will participate in regular taste panels to maintain our high flavor standards.
