Role Overview

You will be at the very heart of warehouse performance. Specifically, you will use data from labour management systems and WMS tools to accurately forecast workforce requirements, optimise scheduling, support critical operational decisions, and improve overall productivity.

Key Responsibilities

📊 Labour Forecasting & Planning

  • Analyse historical and real-time data to accurately forecast labour demand.

  • Build daily, weekly, and monthly labour plans.

  • Recommend optimal staffing levels and shift patterns to consistently meet SLA requirements.

⚙️ Operational Support

  • Work closely with warehouse managers to adjust staffing in real time.

  • Track productivity and efficiency using WMS and labour systems.

  • Prioritise tasks to support a smooth and efficient workflow.

💰 Cost & Compliance

  • Monitor labour spending and proactively flag risks or cost overruns.

  • Coordinate agency labour hours during peak seasons.

  • Ensure full compliance with UK labour laws and health & safety standards.

📈 Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Produce detailed reports on labour utilisation and performance.

  • Identify operational trends and pinpoint process improvement opportunities.

  • Support the optimization of labour planning processes for future efficiency.

Essential Skills & Experience

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Proven background in labour planning, workforce optimisation, or similar analytical roles.

  • Strong analytical and reporting abilities.

  • Experience in warehousing, logistics, or distribution environments.

  • Solid knowledge of warehouse KPIs and operational processes.

  • Proficiency in Excel and planning tools (e.g., Kronos, Reflexis).

  • The ability to effectively manage agency labour during peak times.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to changing needs.

Salary & Location

  • Salary: £34,270 – £37,880 per year

  • Location: Northampton NN3 6RU (Permanent, Full-Time)
