About the Opportunity

We are actively seeking a motivated and enthusiastic trainee to join our friendly and highly specialized Vascular Studies Unit. Specifically, this unit plays a vital role in diagnosing and managing vascular diseases across Northamptonshire through advanced non-invasive tests, such as Duplex ultrasound scanning.

Furthermore, this role offers full training, professional guidance, and a clear career development pathway. You will work diligently toward achieving accreditation with the College and Society for Vascular Science over the course of the traineeship. 📚🎓

Job Details

  • Location: Northampton NN1 5BD

  • Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

  • Salary: £31,049 – £46,580 per year

  • Band: 5 / 6 (dependent on experience and progression)

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our dedicated vascular team, you will:

  • Perform Examinations: Initially support, and eventually independently carry out, specialized vascular ultrasound examinations.

  • Service Delivery: Support the delivery of a high-quality, countywide diagnostic service.

  • Interpretation & Reporting: Interpret and report blood flow measurements and imaging to effectively support diagnosis.

  • Patient Care: Prepare, assess, and assist patients throughout their entire examination journey.

  • Administration: Manage clinical data, maintain accurate records, and strictly follow patient confidentiality guidelines.

  • Patient Advice: Provide non-clinical advice and proactively encourage healthier lifestyle habits.

  • Communication: Support clinical colleagues by communicating complex technical information clearly.

  • Improvement: Participate in departmental audits and crucial research initiatives.

  • Teamwork: Build strong working relationships to ensure the delivery of outstanding patient care.

Importantly, this role requires excellent hand-eye coordination, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small, focused team. 🤝
