The Role: Strengthening Defenses
Cybersecurity is deeply embedded in Visa’s culture. As a result, our Security Architecture team is actively expanding, and we need a talented analyst to help strengthen our defenses against evolving threats.
You will work directly alongside experienced security architects. Your goal will be to review, design, and enhance security controls across Visa’s applications, APIs, cloud environments, and GenAI-based systems. Moreover, this role is highly hands-on, requiring strong coding abilities, modern cloud platform knowledge, and practical exposure to Generative AI (GenAI). You will participate actively in threat modeling, security reviews, and the adoption of security best practices throughout Visa’s technology ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
As a pivotal member of the team, you will:

Architecture Support: Support architecture reviews for web, API, and backend applications in collaboration with senior architects.

Assessment & Review: Assist in security assessments throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including scoping, threat modeling, and peer reviews.

Control Implementation: Help integrate and implement robust security controls aligned with Visa’s stringent standards.

Vulnerability Management: Contribute to identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security vulnerabilities in both on-premise and cloud environments.

Automation & PoC: Use your coding expertise to review source code, build proof-of-concept tools, or automate critical security tasks.

Monitoring: Assist in monitoring security advisories and conducting ongoing security evaluations.

DevSecOps Exposure: Gain crucial hands-on exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies (like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.

AI Security: Support security reviews for AI/ML and GenAI systems, emphasizing prompt injection prevention, data privacy, and model safeguards.

Knowledge Growth: Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, tools, and AI-powered security solutions.

Collaboration: Collaborate with distributed teams to ensure security requirements are fully understood and implemented.

Documentation: Maintain and update essential security documentation, guidelines, and reference architectures.

Qualifications and Experience
Basic Qualifications
We require candidates to possess:

Strong coding skills in one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go).

Practical, hands-on experience with GenAI or AI/ML systems.

Working knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Familiarity with application, cloud, and network security principles.

An understanding of threat modelling and vulnerability assessment.

An awareness of security frameworks like PCI-DSS, NIST, or ISO 27001.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience would be highly beneficial:

Exposure to GenAI/LLM specific security controls.

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container security.

An understanding of DevOps and security automation practices.

Experience utilizing vulnerability management tools.

Awareness of industry compliance requirements (such as PCI or GDPR).
