About the Role

Synapri is looking for a dedicated Cyber Security Adviser for an 8-month+ fixed-term contract based in Glasgow. This is a hybrid role that involves occasional on-site client visits in Glasgow. It offers a fantastic opportunity to operate within complex organizational structures, actively supporting the security of critical systems and core business operations.

Essential Skills & Experience

We are seeking an adviser who can bring:

  • Cyber Security Expertise: Strong experience in cyber security analysis and assessment. This includes threat identification, risk assessment, evaluation of technical controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: The ability to confidently engage, advise, and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, within fast-paced and complex environments.

  • Analytical Clarity: Expertise in analyzing complex information and providing clear, professional security guidance.

  • Delivery Focus: Proven ability to work effectively under deadlines, maintain focus during challenging scenarios, and quickly identify solutions that meet stakeholder needs.

  • Technical Handling: A proven team-player with hands-on experience managing Crypto and Secret equipment.

  • Documentation: Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, precise, and accurate written documentation.

  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills across diverse business stakeholders.

  • Incident Response: Experience handling and responding to security incidents.

  • Training & Presentation: Skills in delivering effective presentations and security training sessions.

Desirable Skills

While not mandatory, the following experience and knowledge would be beneficial:

  • Experience operating or architecting within operational technology environments, especially those involving critical systems.

  • Demonstrated capability in managing complexity in professional settings.

  • Knowledge of control frameworks in technology or information security.

  • Working knowledge of NIST 800-53 and IS4.

  • Membership with the Security Institute and/or BCS.

Work Arrangement

 

  • Model: This is a Hybrid working model.

  • Travel: Occasional on-site client visits will be required in the Glasgow area.
