About the Role
As a Trainee Compliance Analyst, you’ll provide crucial support to our Client & Matter Inception teams. Your work, therefore, will include:
- Carrying out Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Client Due Diligence (CDD) checks. 🕵️
- Conducting conflict of interest searches and escalating issues where necessary.
- Monitoring ongoing client information, sanctions, and PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) checks. 📑
- Assisting with other risk management and onboarding procedures.
- Ensuring compliance processes are completed accurately and on time. ⏱️
This role allows you to work closely with specialists, gaining exposure to different areas of compliance while also developing the skills needed for a long-term career in the field.
About the Team
The Risk & Ethics Directorate plays a central role at Shoosmiths, managing compliance, risk policies, and procedures across the firm. Ultimately, the Central Compliance Unit (CCU) ensures that all client and matter inception processes run smoothly and provides expert guidance to our legal teams. Key Responsibilities
As part of your training, you will:
- Review new client/matter information and request additional details when needed.
- Research and analyze AML/CDD results and escalate concerns as necessary.
- Record compliance information for auditing purposes. 🗂️
