The Opportunity
As a Network Security Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of defending our organization against evolving cyber threats. From incident response and triage to designing and maintaining robust security solutions, this role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic security initiatives. You’ll collaborate across teams, manage vulnerabilities, and optimize network tools to strengthen overall resilience.

What You’ll Do
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Responding to and triaging SOC security incidents in a 24/7 environment.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network solutions.
- Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting firewalls from vendors like Cisco, Checkpoint, and Palo Alto.
- Managing secure proxy solutions (Bluecoat, F5) and implementing content filtering and SSL inspection policies.
- Monitoring and optimizing security tools such as PRTG and Nagios.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Identifying vulnerabilities and remediating risks highlighted by “purple team” activities.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a candidate who brings:
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VLANs, and load balancing.
- Hands-on experience with next-gen firewalls, IPS/IDS, SSL decryption, and deep packet inspection.
- An in-depth understanding of IPSec, SSL/TLS, VPNs, and two-factor authentication.
- The proven ability to analyze packet captures and identify malicious traffic.
- Experience with secure proxy solutions and monitoring technologies.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with tools like Splunk ES, LogRhythm, or Darktrace Antigena.
- Experience triaging SOC alerts in collaboration with analysts.
- Root cause analysis of application traffic flows (DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP, FTP/S, LDAP/S).
- A strong understanding of the OSI model and security information event monitoring.
