Workshop description:
Whether you’re just starting your writing journey or an experienced scribe, if you are wondering if AI can help in your process, this is the workshop for you. It is designed for writers across all genres, from fiction to non-fiction, poetry to screenwriting. The key aim of the course is to use AI to enhance your creativity and produce work that is more authentically you.
The Goal of the Workshop:
The aim is to provide a balanced, interactive and enlightening day of exploration, at the end of which you’ll have developed practical skills for working with AI tools. You will also have developed personalised workflows tailored to your creative process and have a clear understanding of how to maintain your authentic voice while working with this ever-developing technology.
Workshop Description:
This workshop focuses on exploring and mastering how Large Language Models (LLMs) – the AI platforms like Chat GPT – can serve as partners in your creative process. Through practical exercises and critical evaluation, you’ll learn to use these powerful tools while preserving your unique voice and creative vision.
No matter what your chosen genre is, the techniques taught will allow you to strategically integrate AI assistance for specific tasks—brainstorming, research, feedback—while maintaining complete creative control. You’ll discover how to evaluate AI outputs with a critical eye, recognising useful suggestions and transforming them into ideas that connect with your creative vision.
You don’t need prior experience with AI tools to participate. We’ll start with the fundamentals and progress through increasingly sophisticated applications. By the end of the day, you’ll have developed personalised workflows tailored to your specific writing needs and creative goals, along with the skills to critically evaluate AI-generated content.
With comprehensive handouts including prompt templates, evaluation frameworks, and ethical guidelines, this workshop offers a balanced, practical approach to navigating the evolving relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence. There’s nothing like the collective wisdom of fellow writers to help you discover how these tools can enhance rather than diminish your creative practice.

While it is not essential, you will get the most out of this course if you have subscribe to one of the platforms for a month starting on the day of the workshop. This will remove the ‘query limit’ that the free accounts have. This will also give you more freedom to experiment in the weeks following the course. However, you will still gain a great deal from the course and be able to experiment afterwards using the free accounts.
