Are you an experienced HR Advisor looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact? Orbit, one of the UK’s largest housing groups and a leader in affordable housing development, is seeking a HR Advisor to join our Colleague Resolutions team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

As a HR Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting line managers and employees on a wide range of employment matters, including absence management, disciplinary procedures, grievances, and capability issues.
This is a hybrid role based in our Coventry office, with some travel to our South East and East Anglia sites as required. If you have a strong background in employee relations, HR policy development, and stakeholder engagement, we want to hear from you!

🛠 Key Responsibilities of the HR Advisor
As a HR Advisor, you will:
✅ Employee Relations & Case Management:
- Lead on HR casework, ensuring policies and procedures are followed accurately.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to line managers on sickness absence, disciplinary actions, grievances, and capability issues.
- Ensure all case documentation is properly recorded and maintained.
✅ Policy Development & Compliance:
- Support the development and improvement of HR policies, workflows, and manager guides.
- Ensure all HR practices align with current employment legislation and best practices.
- Help create HR checklists and tools to ensure consistency across the organisation.
✅ Stakeholder Engagement & Support:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with managers and key business stakeholders.
- Provide HR coaching and support to line managers to improve people management skills.
- Act as an HR representative in discussions with senior leadership teams.
✅ Supporting Organisational Change & Development:
- Assist in change management initiatives, including restructures, harmonisation programmes, and TUPE transfers.
- Conduct consultations and prepare necessary HR documentation to support business transformations.
- Provide guidance on employee rights and obligations during periods of change.
✅ Administrative & Formal Meeting Support:
- Act as a note-taker in formal meetings, ensuring accurate records of employee relations discussions.
- Support the HR team with administrative tasks related to employee records and casework tracking.

🎯 What We’re Looking For
To be successful in the HR Advisor role, you should have:
✔ Proven Experience in Employee Relations – Strong background in handling complex ER cases from start to resolution.
✔ HR Qualifications – CIPD Level 5 qualified (or currently working towards it) or equivalent HR experience.
✔ Up-to-Date Employment Law Knowledge – Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
✔ Excellent Communication & Stakeholder Management Skills – Ability to advise, influence, and coach managers confidently.
✔ Strong Customer Service Orientation – A proactive approach to HR problem-solving and a commitment to employee wellbeing.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
✔ Experience working within a HR Shared Services environment.
✔ Knowledge of TUPE, restructures, and harmonisation programmes.
✔ Background in HR policy development and implementation.
