SUMMARY:Introduction to Creative Writing – ten week online course
DESCRIPTION:This ten-week online course is aimed at fuelling your imagination while developing your skills in the  craft of creative writing.\n\n\nDo you have an idea for a story but haven’t yet captured it on the page? Or maybe you have a writing project in progress that has stalled? This ten-week creative writing course is aimed at fuelling your imagination while developing your skills in the writing craft. It is for writers of fiction (novels and short stories) and creative non-fiction (life writing or a hybrid of forms – memoir and travel for example). Or perhaps you don’t yet know what form is for you and your stories. \nOver the ten weeks we will explore the key elements of storytelling\, including: structure\, character\, showing and telling\, setting\, language and voice\, point of view and editing. There will be weekly practical writing exercises alongside exploring published work to probe techniques and style. \nThe course is delivered through weekly online seminars which run for 2.5 hours on a Thursday morning UK time. Your tutors are novelist Rosie Chard\, and short story and creative non-fiction writer\, Jacq Molloy. Rosie and Jacq are both highly experienced writing tutors and published writers\, passionate about writers developing their unique voices. They will work together to deliver the course so you will have the benefit of insight from two writers. \nWherever you are in the UK (or the world) this online course will enable you to develop and share your stories within an encouraging and supportive writing community. \nBy the end of this course – which is suitable for beginners  or those with some experience – you will have deepened your knowledge of the writing craft and stirred your imagination into action. \nThe course runs on Thursday mornings from 10-12.30pm on 1\, 8\, 15\, 22 and 29 May\, 5\, 12\, 19\, 26 June and 3 July. \nThe ten-week course costs £399 including VAT. This professional training is for you. \nThis training is interactive and high energy with individual work as well as group activities\, resourceful\, and skills-based. The sessions will teach you what you need to know to work as a professional interpreter. \nDuring the training\, you will learn the interpreters’ roles\, ethics\, modes of interpreting\, and more! This traning is focused on Medical Interpreting (TMI)\, and provides the prerequisite for national medical interpreting certification. \nThis is a language-neutral course\, taught in English\, and is open to speakers of all languages. \nPrior experience in interpreting fields is not required. \nPrice includes language assessments\, as needed\, all materials/books\, and final certificate. Class participants must prove proficiency in English and one additional language.
