DESCRIPTION:An Academic Sixth Form of Character and Excellence We look forward to welcoming you to our Sixth Form Open Evening on 5th January 2023 \nYou are invited to visit our newly refurbished Sixth Form area and see our state-of-the-art facilities.\nThe evening will start a 6.00 pm and end at 8.00 pm. Amy Patterson\, our Assistant Principal for Sixth Form\, will be doing two presentations during the evening. Please book your place for either presentation at 6.10 pm or 7.00 pm. If you book the later presentation\, you can spend time browsing the subject areas before you attend. \n\nVisit our £1million state-of-the-art Sixth Form Centre and our Nucleus STEM Centre\nPresentations at 6.10 pm and 7.00 pm\nSubject stands and opportunities to ask questions of teachers and students\nA wide range of A Level and vocational courses and a supportive tutor network\, with expert UCAS guidance for students.\nFind out about our unique Nucleus VI Medical and Engineering specialism\nChat with tutors and the Sixth Form Leadership Team about life at Northampton Academy Sixth Form\nFull course details will be available for you to take away during the evening\n\nFor those interested in studying A Level Psychology or Sociology\, there will be additional drop-in ‘Introduction to Social Science’ talks in the Lecture Theatre at 6.20 pm\, 6.50 pm and 7.30 pm . There is no requirement to book for these.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to welcome current and prospective students and parents on-site to our Sixth Form 2023 Open Evening. \n\n\n\n\nLocation: Caroline Chisholm School Wooldale Road Northampton NN4 6TP United Kingdom\n\nWe are very excited to open our doors once again to current and prospective parents and students to enjoy an evening to explore our fantastic facilities\, meet many of our excellent members of staff and hear from our existing sixth form students and learn about their experience with us. \nTo give you as much flexibility and time as you need\, the evening will be a combination of presentations (see booking information below) and free flow to allow you to explore our facilities and talk to staff and students at your leisure. \nSelf-guided tours \nOur doors will open at 4:30pm. Throughout the evening\, there will be exhibitions from each of our faculties with students and staff showcasing the work our Year 12 and 13 students have been doing. Staff and students will also be on hand to talk to you in depth about life at CCS and their subjects\, and how these can shape your child’s future. You will be able to self-guide the exhibitions throughout D & E Blocks and a detailed brochure and map will be provided when you arrive. There will also be staff and students on hand to help guide you should you wish. If you wish to do a self-guided tour only and not attend any of the presentations\, please request the self-guided tour only ticket. \nPresentations \nYou will be able to book into two presentations (subject to availability) from our Principal and Head of Sixth Form\, and from our Performance Lead for Year 12. These do not need to be attended in any particular order – further information and time slots are below: \nWelcome from Principal and Head of Sixth form \nMr James and Mrs McTaggart will be talking to you about our school\, vision and strategy and teaching and learning the Caroline Chisholm School way\, and also why Caroline Chisholm School should be your child’s school of choice. \nTo learn more about the Caroline Chisholm School way\, you can book onto one of the following three 20-minute slots: \n\nWelcome 1: 5:00-5:20pm\nWelcome 2: 6:00-6:20pm\nWelcome 3: 7:00-7:20pm\n\nA Level mindset – Talk from Year 12 Performance Leader \nThere will also be a 20-minute presentation from our Year 12 Performance Leader\, Miss Cambio\, who will be speaking on A Level mindset – bridging the gap from GCSE to A Level. This talk is completely optional\, but it would provide students and parents a fantastic opportunity to learn more about what students can expect from their first year in Sixth Form. \nIf you’re interested in hearing from Miss Cambio on this topic\, time slots are from: \n\n5:20pm – 5:40pm\n6:20pm – 6:40pm\n7:20pm – 7:40pm\n\nWe would highly recommend you visit these presentations\, so please book early to avoid disappointment \nYou can book your chosen time slot above\, by clicking ‘Select A Time’ \, and then ‘Tickets’ and completing the registration with your personal details. \n\n\nBooking information: \n\nDue to high demand and to maintain everyone’s safety\, we are kindly asking families to limit bookings to two adults per family plus one Year 11 student.\nFor the presentations\, you must book a time slot – there will be no admission to the event without a ticket so please print or have these available to show on your phone\nPlease arrive no more than 5-10 minutes before your time slot\, to allow time for the earlier slot to leave the location safely\n\nCOVID information: \nWe take yours and our safety very seriously and\, in terms of COVID-19\, please be aware of the following safety precautions we are taking: \n\nPlease consider wearing masks during your visit and hand sanitise regularly – hand sanitisers will be available throughout the school for your use;\nBooking places for the presentations have been limited to minimise large gatherings;\nIf you are displaying any Covid 19 symptoms\, feel poorly or have a temperature\, we would politely ask that you do not attend.\n\nApplications for Sixth form will open from 9am on 5 January.
